As manager in clinical cost data collection and standards at New South Wales Health between 2012 and 2017, Julia led the team that transformed the patient costing process in New South Wales public hospitals to deliver the patient costing information required to implement the national and state activity based funding models in New South Wales.
Julia is currently the Manager, Research and Innovation with activity based management New South Wales Health. One of the key responsibilities of this role is the strategic evaluation and development of clinical costing across New South Wales Health. Julia is currently undertaking a PhD through University of Technology, Sydney Business School. Her thesis is examining how financial and non-financial information during COVID-19. This research is motivated by her commitment to ensure that the patient cost information provides the information necessary for system managers. Julia’s background is in Health Information Management and has a Master’s in Public Health.
