Ms Eileen Roberston

    Speaker Biography

    Eileen Roberston is a health economist with extensive experience in health and social care policy development and implementation in the United Kingdom. She has worked at a senior level in the Department of Health and subsequently in National Health Service England and was a member of the United Kingdom Government Economic service.

    While at the United Kingdom Department of Health, Eileen provided analytical support across a range of health and social care policy areas, including workforce, primary care and funding reform. She spent 10 years working on the implementation and ongoing development of activity based funding in the English National Health Service. Since joining the Independent Hospital Pricing Authority, Eileen project managed a major evaluation of the Primary Health Network After Hours Program on behalf of the Australian Government and has undertaken a range of projects with policy impacts, such as a review of the effect of financial incentives on the quality of hospital care and a workforce planning project for the Australian Department of Health.

    She uses her wide experience in payment reform to contribute regularly to the Patient Classification Systems International training course focussing on activity based funding design and implementation. She has contributed to other international events and policy fora around the world.
