With a decorated career across the aged care sector, Ian Yates AM currently serves as Interim Inspector-General of Aged Care in the Australian Government. Prior to this, Ian spent 20 years as Chief Executive of the Council On The Ageing (COTA) and lent his expertise to several federal and sector advisory bodies in key areas including aged care quality, superannuation, and population ageing research. He was also Chair of the Aged Care Council of Elders, Director of Livable Housing Australia and remains Chair of the Management Committee for the Australasian Journal on Ageing. Recognized for his remarkable contributions to the sector, Ian was awarded Membership in the Order of Australia (AM) in 2005.
