2021 Program

The Independent Hospital Pricing Authority (IHPA) held its 2021 Activity Based Funding Conference from Wednesday 5 to Friday 7 May 2021 as a virtual event.

Over the course of the three-day program, delegates had the opportunity to access a range of resources and connect online with leading professionals, utilising virtual networking features, such as group networking sessions, an interactive Q&A session, and the ability to book one-on-one virtual meetings through the platform.

Dr Tobias Wirén, Business Area Manager, Orthopaedic Surgeon, Capio Orthopedics, Sweden

How do clinical leaders translate the ambition of new reimbursement systems into value-adding activities among colleagues? The bundled payment model for hip and knee arthroplasties in Stockholm, Sweden has since the introduction in 2009 taken the orthopedic surgeons on a challenging but successful road to happier patients, better quality, improved accessibility and reduced cost. Dr Wirén, Orthopedic Surgeon and Business Area Manager of Capio Orthopedics will take us through the mistakes, the obstacles, and the rewards of a system where specialisation drives quality and quality drives productivity.
